How Do I Know If I Have an Issue With Food or My Body?

When you think of eating disorders, you might picture extreme cases - but many people struggle with food, exercise, and body image without even realising they could benefit from support.

Maybe you find yourself constantly thinking about what you’ve eaten (or haven’t eaten). Maybe you feel guilty for missing a workout. Maybe your self-worth feels tied up in how your body looks.
These struggles are incredibly common - and they’re not things you just have to live with.

In my clinical practice, I often hear people say, ”I don't think my problems are bad enough to get help."
But you don’t have to hit a crisis point to deserve support.

In fact, early recognition and intervention can make a huge difference.

That’s why I’ve created a free Self-Assessment Checklist - to help you reflect on your relationship with food, movement, and body image. It’s a gentle, non-diagnostic tool to guide your self-awareness and help you decide if seeking support could be helpful. You can access this checklist on the Home Page.

If you recognise yourself in the checklist, know this:

  • You are not alone.

  • Your struggles are valid.

  • Help is available.

You deserve a life that isn’t ruled by food rules, body shame, or harsh inner criticism.
Healing is possible - and often, taking that first small step is the most important one.
